Timeline:
I was born in Thessaloniki and spent my childhood and youth in the small town of Drama in northern Greece, where I also completed my school education.
In 2002 I entered the Medical Faculty of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, which I completed in 2008.
After a short time, I decided to move to Germany, on the one hand to have the opportunity to enter the field more quickly and on the other hand to acquire a thorough specialization in neurosurgery.
After the initial transition period in which I learned the German language, I completed part of the specialist training in general and visceral surgery (2010-2012). Immediately afterwards, I began my specialist training in neurosurgery.
I had the luck and the honor of completing my specialist training at two of the largest clinics in North Rhine-Westphalia:
From 2012 to 2015 I worked at the Helios Klinikum Krefeld, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. M. Stoffel, one of the most renowned and specialized spinal neurosurgeons.
In 2015 I then moved to the Sana Klinikum Wedau in Duisburg, one of the largest neurosurgical clinics in Germany.
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. M. Scholz, I acquired in-depth knowledge of the treatment of neurosurgical cases in the neurosurgical intensive care unit over the next three years (2015-2018). It was also during this time that I had my first contact with neuromodulation, alongside one of the best-known functional neurosurgeons, Dr. med. St. Schu.
During my training, I was certified by the German Spine Society (DWG) for the quality of diagnostic and surgical skills in the field of spine surgery and awarded the corresponding European diploma (Eurospine Diploma).
In January 2018, I obtained the title of specialist in neurosurgery from the North Rhine Medical Association.
From 2018 to 2021, I worked as a senior physician at the Helios University Hospital Klinikum Barmen in Wuppertal, under the direction of PD Dr. med. J. Terzis, where I had the great pleasure of passing on my neurosurgical knowledge to the new generation of neurosurgeons and medical students.
From 2022 to mid-2024, I worked in the neurosurgery practice of H. Wibisono and Dr. med. U. Hülsmann, where I specialized in the treatment of patients with chronic pain, in particular with the neuromodulation, as well as through conservative and surgical treatment.
During my medical career, I have had the honor of gaining surgical experience alongside the best surgeons in my field and performing operations across the entire spectrum of neurosurgery, with the patient always at the center.
My in-depth training in the field of spine enables me to carry out specialized diagnostics and targeted treatments using both conservative procedures and the entire spectrum of modern surgery, from the simplest to the most complex operations.
After having performed a large number of operations in recent years and having the necessary know-how and experience, I am able to do what I have always wanted to do: return to my home country to offer my medical knowledge there.
